Melissa Muender, with a master’s degree in applied economics, has taught for Liberty University, the Art Institute of Pittsburgh Online, Eastern Shore Community College, Rowan Cabarrus Community College, and Central Piedmont Community College. She has worked as a consultant for the Wake Forest University School of Medicine and has scored for NJASK, CELLA, and CAHSEE with the Educational Testing Service. Melissa has also been invited to serve as an AP Reader for ETS, and looks forward to scoring AP Macroeconomics essays in June 2012.
She has also homeschooled her two children. Melissa is privileged to be the pastor’s wife at Maranatha Baptist Church on the Eastern Shore of Virginia and has enjoyed participating in several mission projects around the world. She has also taught Economics for the Citizen for the Patrick Henry College Distance Learning program.
Amy Raybould, MA
MA, Liberty University
Amy Raybould graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Economics and earned a Master of Arts degree in Business from Liberty University. During her studies, Amy assisted in teaching all age groups ranging from elementary students to undergraduate and graduate college students. This will be her fifth year as the Classroom Teacher for PHC Prep Academy’s AP Microeconomics and AP Macroeconomics courses.
She currently resides in New Jersey where she has served as a Senior Credit Analyst and Assistant Vice President in the banking industry. Amy is no stranger to the online education format. Prior to working at TD Bank and Susquehanna Bank, Amy served as the Director of Academic Advising for Liberty University Online.
Duration: One-semester course offered in the fall (16 weeks)
Please Note: Scheduled, real-time sessions in the online classroom are not the only form of instruction available in a PHC Prep Academy course, but are offered in addition to lectures or other instructional materials that students are able to access online at their convenience. All sessions will also be recorded for later viewing. Registered students will be notified of any changes to the live session schedule.

This course is designed to introduce students to the basic principles of microeconomics and how to approach economic issues from a biblical worldview. By the end of the course, students will have a solid understanding of:
The course will employ readings, lectures, video segments, graphing tutorials, and PowerPoint presentations to enhance understanding of these topics. Students will be expected to make use of the aforementioned resources to successfully complete the homework assignments (including assignments from the Econ Central website), participate in discussion forums, and prepare for quizzes and exams.
Am I Ready for this AP Course?
This is a rigorous, college-level course. PHC Prep recommends that students have a strong background in mathematics, preferably having completed Algebra II, in order to succeed in AP Microeconomics. Please visit the College Board’s AP Microeconomics page for more information about the material and skills students will study in the course and will need to master for the AP exam in this subject.
