AP Exam Score Results
What are AP exams?
Advanced Placement (AP)* exams are standardized subject tests offered every May. Millions of students take the exams in more than thirty subjects.
Because AP courses cover a college-level scope of material and teach college-level skills, AP exams are designed to test students’ college-level mastery of a subject. By earning a high AP exam score, a student demonstrates knowledge equivalent to what he or she would be expected to know at the end of a first-year college course in the same subject. That’s why so many colleges grant credit to students, or let them place out of lower-level classes—or both—on the basis of high AP scores.
